Editorial Guidelines

Our standards for database curation, name verification, algorithmic quality, and trademark checks. How we ensure GeneratorBrain tools remain the best on the web.

Curated by branding experts
Linguistic & trademark pre-filters
High-quality, distinct outputs

These Editorial Guidelines explain the standards, curation rules, and methodologies that govern the content and generator databases on GeneratorBrain. Our goal is to provide professional-grade tools that foster entrepreneurship and creativity.

1. Core Philosophy

TL;DR

We value usability, branding excellence, and accuracy over volume. Every tool must solve a real naming or resource challenge.

At GeneratorBrain, we believe naming a startup or project shouldn't be governed by low-quality spammer tools. We aim to elevate online naming conventions by utilizing proper phonetics, modern cultural alignments, and descriptive prefixes/suffixes that respect branding best practices.

2. Database Curation & Expansion

TL;DR

Linguistic data is curated by naming specialists and cross-referenced with modern English and cultural terms.

Our naming directories (first names, surnames, tech suffixes, business roots) are not generated by unsupervised scrapers. We curate lists manually to verify that spelling is correct, roots have clear etymological backgrounds, and words flow naturally.

3. Algorithmic Quality & Testing

TL;DR

Every generator goes through strict quality testing to filter out unpronounceable or repetitive results.

Before publishing a generator, our team tests the output against multiple keywords. We analyze the entropy and readability of suggestions, ensuring they contain the proper syllable limits (mostly under three syllables) and lack awkward consonant chains.

4. Trademark & Intellectual Property Principles

TL;DR

We pre-filter known brands from our naming databases. Users are responsible for local registration audits.

We strive to avoid suggesting brand names that conflict with major global trademarks (e.g. Apple, Google, Nike). However, due to local registration nuances, it is impossible to pre-filter all possibilities. We strongly recommend that users run official checks via the USPTO or WIPO before launching a brand.

5. User Feedback & Correction

TL;DR

We actively refine tools based on user suggestions and report metrics. If a tool acts erratically, we fix it.

We are a living platform. If you notice a typo in a database or want a new category of generator, our editorial team is responsive to inquiries at hello@generatorbrain.com.
